  • What are the hardware requirements for running eDoc Organizer?

  • What are the software requirements for running eDoc Organizer?

  • What scanner can I use with eDoc Organizer?

    Any scanner with Twain drivers should work just fine.
  • How can I tell if I have the required software installed on my computer?

    You don’t need to worry about installing the required software. If you don’t have the necessary software installed on your computer, eDoc Organizer installer will install it for you.
  • I tried to install Edoc and got message saying installation failed.

    Sometimes this happens after eDoc Organizer installs the software requirements and makes you reboot. Reboot the pc a second time and run installation again.
  • I’m trying to install Edoc and it doesn’t seem to be doing anything.

    You probably don’t have Framework 3.5 SP1. This part of the install takes a few minutes. Please wait about 15 minutes for the process to complete.
  • How do I get updates for eDoc Organizer?

    eDoc Organizer checks for updates every time you start it. Depending on how old your version of eDoc Organizer is, it will either automatically update or give you a choice to update now or later.
  • What happens if I uninstall and reinstall eDoc Organizer?

    When you uninstall eDoc Organizer your files are not deleted. If you reinstall eDoc Organizer on the same PC and as the same user, your files will show up automatically.
  • I created a Label Group and I don’t see it in the list.

    Label groups don't show up, until you create a label for that label group or if you already created a label under that label group, you need to scroll down the list.
  • How is eDoc Organizer installed and where are the files located?

    eDoc Organizer uses Microsoft ClickOnce deployment technology for its installation. You can read more about ClickOnce at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ClickOnce.

    ClickOnce applications are installed on a per user basis on your computer and all the files are located under "C:\Documents and Settings\<USER_NAME>\Local Settings\Apps\2.0\" folder on a computer running Windows XP. If you are running Windows Vista or Windows 7 the installation files are located under "C:\Users\<USER_NAME>\AppData\Local\Apps\2.0\" directory.

  • Where does eDoc Organizer store all its data on my computer?

    Warning: Modifying eDoc Organizer storage folder and its content can render eDoc Organizer unusable. Please use extreme caution in directly accessing eDoc Organizer data storage folder outside of eDoc Organizer.

    By default eDoc Organizer stores all its data in "C:\Documents and Settings\<USER_NAME>\Local Settings\Application Data\eDoc\Organizer" folder on a Windows XP and "C:\Users\<USER_NAME>\AppData\Local\eDoc\Organizer" on a Windows Vista or Windows 7 machine. You can easily access this location by pressing Ctrl+Alt+O on your keyboard in the main eDoc Organizer window.

  • Can I store eDoc Organizer data on a network share?

    No, eDoc Organizer database cannot be stored on a network share. This is a limitation of the database technology used to store information in eDoc Organizer.
  • Can eDoc Organizer data be used by multiple users over the network?

    No, eDoc Organizer is a single user application. You cannot share eDoc Organizer data between multiple users over the network.
