In addition to minor bug fixes, 1.4.2.0 version of eDoc Organizer includes two new features:
1. Manual cropping: When you scan in paper documents of uncommon size like receipts or business cards, the scanned image might have a lot of empty space around it. eDoc Organizer has always had the “Auto Crop” feature to help eliminate the empty space and resize the document to the correct size. But there might be times when the “Auto Crop” feature doesn’t behave exactly as you want it to. Now you can use the “Manual Crop” feature during those times to help you get the exact results you want.
Once you scan the image, click the “Manual Crop” button to bring up the “Crop Scanned Image” dialog.
In this dialog you can use the thumbs at the edge of the image to resize the relevant portion of the scanned image you want to keep.

Clicking on the Apply button will crop the image and only keep what you want from the scanned image.
2. Thumbnails of office documents: In the last version (1.4.1.0) of eDoc Organizer we implemented a new way to retrieve thumbnail images of documents you import into eDoc Organizer. In this version of eDoc Organizer we are enhancing that capability to get thumbnail images of even more documents. Now users of Microsoft Office 2007 will be able to get thumbnail image of all office documents (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) they import into eDoc Organizer. This new features requires that you have a “Microsoft Save as XPS” Add-in for Office 2007 installed on your system. The Add-in can be downloaded from Microsoft website at: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyId=BCE8F991-F0A4-47A0-866B-2FD84A329E02&displaylang=en. Microsoft Office 2003 users and Microsoft Office 2007 users without the Add-in will continue to get the generic office document icons.
