It's Time to Light Up eDoc Organizer on Windows 7

eDoc Organizer is developed using Windows Presentation Foundation (WPF), the latest Microsoft technology for developing user interfaces in a Windows-based application, so it has always been compatible with Windows 7. But Windows 7 brings a lot of new opportunities, like the new Windows 7 Taskbar and Jump Lists, for applications to more closely integrate with the Operating System.

Currently, Microsoft and CNET are offering an exciting and unique opportunity for applications to be featured in a Microsoft-sponsored showcase on CNET Download.com. To submit eDoc Organizer for consideration in this contest, we have added some new Windows 7 features in eDoc Organizer. Lets take a look at how these new features will enhance eDoc Organizer user experience on Windows 7.

Jump List Tasks

Jump List Tasks is a list of common eDoc Organizer tasks that are available from directly from the taskbar. If you pin eDoc Organizer to your taskbar, these tasks will be available even when eDoc Organizer is not running. You can access these common functions quickly by right clicking on the eDoc Organizer icon in your taskbar at any time.

Progress Status in Taskbar

eDoc Organizer will now show the progress and status of long running tasks directly in the taskbar. So whether you are importing a lot of documents in eDoc Organizer or performing a backup, you will always be able to tell the progress of the task and when it is completed without having to look at the actual eDoc Organizer progress window.

Thumbnail Preview of Documents in Taskbar

eDoc Organizer opens a separate window for each document you are viewing. Sometimes, it can become hard to find the correct document window if you have a few documents open all at once.

Now when you open a document in eDoc Organizer, the thumbnail preview of the document in Windows 7 will only show the document and not window around it. This makes the document bigger in the thumbnail and easy to identify. Furthermore, when you hover your mouse over the window you can quickly see the labels that are applied to that document help you find the correct document window right from the taskbar.

These are just some small additions that enhance your experience of using eDoc Organizer on Microsoft’s latest Windows 7 operating system. In the future, we will continue to explore and take advantage of emerging technologies that make eDoc Organizer simpler and easier to use.
